About Padmini Ekadashi
Padmini Ekadashi is a rare and highly auspicious fast observed only during the Shukla Paksha of the Adhik Maas (extra lunar month), which occurs approximately every three years. Also known as Purushottami Ekadashi, it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the master of Adhik Maas. The merit gained from this fast is considered greater than all other Ekadashis combined. The legend tells of King Kritavirya and his queen Padmini. Despite having all luxuries, the king had no heir. Queen Padmini, advised by Goddess Anusuya, performed intense penance and observed this special Ekadashi fast during the Adhik Maas. Pleased by her devotion, Lord Vishnu granted her a son, Kartavirya Arjuna, who became immensely powerful and even defeated the mighty Ravana. This Ekadashi is the ultimate remedy for childless couples and those seeking divine intervention in life.
